The choir now numbers about 140 singers, split between the Southville group meeting on Tuesdays at the Southville Centre in Beaulieu Road , and the Clifton group meeting on Wednesdays at the Subud Hall in Wesley Place.
Nick and Nickomo endeavour to cover the same ground each week in each venue, so that members who cannot attend on their usual night can drop in on the other group. The whole choir gets together for its final rehearsals before a concert, performed at St George’s (off Park Street ).
After the Spring term (there are 3 ten-week terms per year) there is the big Choir Convention held at St George’s and organised by Nick Petts.
Other opportunities for performance arise from time to time, such as participating in community events and festivals. PONITA (People Of Note International Touring Association) endeavours to arrange overseas engagements from time to time.
The choir is an ‘open access’ community choir, meaning that membership is available to all without audition, based on the principle that the opportunity to sing together should be available to all, and that we all have the potential to sing competently.
We provide wordsheets by e-mail, and hardcopy is also made available.
Regularly a full contact list of choir members is sent out on e-mail.
Also we make a demo CD of the songs we are including in concerts, featuring the full arrangement and also the individual parts so that members can practise songs away from the choir, and catch up if sessions are missed.

We lead
this choir together in our home town of Frome, Somerset.
As we are both members of the Natural Voice Practitioner’s Network, we have a policy of inclusivity so all people are welcome and the music is taught orally. The material we sing is rich and varied but not traditional choral music. We produce demo CDs each term of the songs we are going to learn so that people can learn their parts at home if they want. These are particularly useful before a performance, or for people who have missed some sessions, or who join the choir not long before we perform and need to catch up with the full repertoire.
The choir meets on
Monday evenings 7.30 – 9.30 pm.
VENUE: United Reformed Church hall, Whittox Lane ,
Frome.
We have presently about 45 members who sign-up on a termly basis; new members are very welcome. We sing for fun and we also do a few performances each year.
Newcomers can have a taster session on their first evening for £5 which will be taken off their term fee if they decide to join.
The cost for a ten week term is £55/ £45 concs. Children over 11- £25 Optional demo CD - £5 Enquiries/ further information
